If you're reading this right now, that means one of two things. Either 1) you know me and I told you to check out my new blog. If that's the case, then hey, what's up [insert name here]? Or 2) you don't know me and somehow stumbled upon this. If that's the case, then hey, what's up random internet person? Kudos on your internet surfing skills (I'm more of a boogie boarder than a surfer). And no, I'm not selling running apparel.
So here's the deal: I decided to start a blog, mostly because I'm pretty bored. But I thought it would also be fun and a cool way to keep in contact with friends and old teammates and stuff. Oh, and there may have been some peer-pressure involved.
They say you're supposed to write about what you know, and since I don't really know anything else, I guess the theme here is running. I'm currently training for the Chicago Marathon this October, and the goal is to run an Olympic Trials qualifier (2:19). I've never run a marathon before and I have no idea if I'm getting in way over my head, but hell, it's something to shoot for while I'm still in good shape. Besides, it's none of that pussy crap like "Oh, I just want to walk/jog a marathon just to be able to say I've done one." If I wanted to say I've done a marathon, I'd go out and run 26.2 tomorrow.
So yeah, follow me for updates on training (if anyone even cares, that is, haha). I'll also probably be posting random thoughts/stories/rants I have about running, too. Hell, I'll probably be posting whatever's on my mind (that is how a blog is supposed to work, right?), whether it pertains to running or not. And be sure to look out for 50 songs about 50 states in 50 days (that's all I'm gonna say about that -- details to come later).
So I guess that's it for now, but I'll end this first post with a shameless job solicitation: does anyone know of any place that would be willing to hire a History major?
Big Gulps, eh? Welp...see ya later

What about: I know you but you didn't tell me to check out your blog but I was trying to get you to start a blog a couple years ago?
ReplyDeleteWhere's that option?!
