The language of training for a marathon is one big double entendre. There's really no flattering way to talk about it. It's even worse than the typical running stuff about "long and hard", etc. Here are two of my worst during this training period.
(On practicing drinking from a water bottle while running): "I feel like I'm getting it all over my face instead of in my mouth."
(On practicing taking a gel pack while running): "It's not the taste so much as the consistency. It just sat in my mouth and I had a real hard time swallowing it."
Yeah, it's bad.
But what else am I supposed to say? There's no other way to word it to avoid the double entendre!
